Speed vs. Volume

Speed means nothing if you don't trust what you're shipping.

Things have changed dramatically for those of us who still sling code - Yes I still code.

Our time is no longer spent agonizing over the details of algorithms and calculations. It's now spent ensuring that the code an AI produces is functional, follows our architecture, and is actually correct.

It's very easy to get carried away and just let an AI code everything. I see plenty of posts talking about how the biggest issue with AI-assisted coding is making sure the pace of code generation doesn't outrun your pace of understanding.

What works best for me: only ask the AI to produce manageable chunks of functionality - chunks I can verify and understand. Yes, it slows me down a bit relatively speaking. But the reward is having the confidence to press that deploy button.
