Are SaaS's in Trouble?

I think most SaaS companies are in trouble, and I'm not excluding my own from that.

Software that just sits there waiting for someone to log in and do the work isn't going to hold up against AI that can just do the work. That's not a hot take anymore, it's just what's coming.

A few months ago I started noticing something across almost every client conversation. People weren't asking if they should use AI. They were already using it. Quietly. Pasting sensitive data into ChatGPT, Copilot, or Claude and hoping it worked out. Without anyone in IT knowing what was going where.

That's the moment it clicked for me: the risk isn't "AI adoption." It's unmanaged AI adoption happening on tools that were never built to protect your data.

So we're rebuilding Toodlebox around that problem. Instead of managing a dashboard, we're building and deploying AI tools inside a business's own contained environment, so nothing sensitive ends up on a public model. It starts with an assessment that tells you exactly where AI fits in your business, and a plan to do it right from day one.

We're opening this up to a handful of pilot businesses starting this Monday, so we can work closely with them before rolling it out more broadly.

This is the direction Toodlebox is heading now, and honestly it's the most energized I've been about this business in years.
